Fall is Here

Fall has officially arrived...even if the temperatures tell another story!

Leaves are beginning to change, animals are preparing for the weather, and we are ready for all things Fall! What's not to love about sitting around a bonfire, the crisp cool air, the smell of pumpkin pie, the taste of a hot cup of apple cider, spending time with the family going on a hay ride to find the perfect pumpkin for carving!

2017 Love Loud Corn Maze:
Check First Baptist Church of Sevierville's 3rd annual Love Loud Corn Maze. It is their way of giving back to the community and we are loving it. Everything is free and there's something for everyone. Corn maze for the entire family, small corn maze for the little tykes, hay ride, popcorn, pumpkins, games, s'mores, photo opportunities and more. Check it out across from Sevierville City Park October 2,3,4, and 6. It opens at 5:30 and last guests may enter no later than 8:30. October 7th it will be open from 2:00-8:00!



Slow Cooker Apple Cider Pulled Chicken Sandwiches:
Serves 6-8    ADJUST SERVINGS
Simmer chicken in the slow cooker with apple cider, then pile on sandwiches and top with cheddar cheese for an easy, flavorful fall meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 apple, peeled and sliced
  • 1 large sweet onion, sliced
  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 t salt
  • 1 t pepper
  • 1 t paprika
  • 2 t dry mustard
  • one 12 oz bottle hard cider
  • 12-16 slices of sourdough or your favorite bread, toasted
  • About 8 oz. shredded sharp white cheddar cheese




Slow Cooker Apple Cider
Ingredients
  • 8 gala apples, cored and quartered
  • 4 sticks cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon whole cloves
  • 1 teaspoon whole allspice
  • 10 cups water
  • ½ cup brown sugar
Instructions
  1. Place your quartered apples into a slow cooker. Add in cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, and allspice in there and pour in the 10 cups of water.
  2. Cook on high for 3 hours.
  3. Mash the apples with a potato masher. Add in brown sugar. Cook an additional 1-3 hours on low.
  4. Strain the solids from the liquids. Discard solids and store liquids in an airtight container for up to 1 week or freeze for later use.
