Outdoor Adventures

In the Tennessee Smoky Mountains there is always something to do!  The Smoky Mountains National Park is one of the most visited national parks in the nation and is known for its beauty and wildlife.  The mountains are a magical place for the outdoor adventurer.  The Smoky Mountains offer unlimited outside activities.

The newest craze to take off with a bang is the action-packed sport of zip lining.  Zip lines give the adventurer the opportunity to hang out among the treetops of a lush, green forest as you glide your way along the path suspended on a cable.  There are many zip line adventures throughout the Smoky Mountains.  Foxfire Mountain Adventures is one company that offers an all-inclusive tour package with exclusive handlebar trolleys that allow you to control your orientation.  Another company, CLIMB Works Canopy, features 13 unique adventures that allow guests to learn about nature and overcome their fears as they make their way over nine different zip lines, three canopy sky bridges, and a fun, unique surprise at the end.

Another popular outdoor activity for the brave at heart is whitewater rafting.  There companies that feature up to Class 4 rapids for those who really like the thrill of going down a rushing river.  This is a great activity for big groups or even a small family.  The smaller class rapids are great fun for the entire family.   If you are looking for something a little more relaxing there are also several places in the area for river tubing.  You can rent tubes and ride the river and relax.

For those who just want to ride and see the beautiful Smoky Mountains for above there are helicopter tours.  Most of these tours are located on Highway 66 but are a great way to relax and take in the beauty.

Have you ever wanted to drive an ATV? Bluff Mountain Adventures offers ATV rides.  This is a great way to explore Bluff Mountain and the wildlife.  You are guided through the mountains by a profession tour guide who stops along the way to talk about the views and the history of Bluff Mountain.  The ATV activities are for 12 years and up.

There are many more outdoor activities available throughout the Smoky Mountains, such as, horseback riding, Dolly’s Splash Country, miniature golf, and much more.  With an endless assortment of different activities there is something for everyone in your family to enjoy.
